Art Contest Guidelines

Do I have to provide a prize[s] for my contest?

  • Yes! Without prizes it would not be a contest.

Do I need to announce a deadline for my contest?

  • Of course, without a deadline your contestants would have no idea when their piece is due.

Do I need to include references in my contest?

  • Providing references is key in showing your contestants what you want drawn or to give them ideas. So yes, you should include references in your contest.

How many contests am I allowed?

  • You only have the permission to create one contest at a time. If it is noticed that you have multiple contests open ones that are not in use will be locked.

Art Gallery Guidelines
Am I allowed to have multiple galleries for different types of art? [Ex: Drawing, Writing, Photography]
  • Yes. You are permitted to have one topic for each type of art. For example if you draw, and write. You are allowed to have one gallery for drawing and one for writing. Together you would have 2 separate galleries. You may combine them into one topic if you wish.

Am I permitted to ask for critiques/collabs on my gallery?
  • Once again the answer is yes. You are allowed to ask for critiques and collabs on your galleries, and shops.

May I post mature content art?
  • You may do so. However, please be sure you do not link it directly. It is best if you post a link in conjunction with a warning as to make younger audiences aware.

Art Shop Guidelines
How many art shops am I allowed to have open?

  • You are restricted to one art shop.

  • However, there is an exception to this. If you do both digital and traditional art you may have one in each of the designated forum categories.

May I have separate topics for commissions and freebies?

  • No. It is preferred that you keep commissions and freebies organized into one topic.

Art Theft Guidelines
What is plagiarism?
  • the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.

Oh no! I referenced a piece of art from another. Is that plagiarism?

  • This is not considered plagiarism as long as you credit the source.

May I use bases in my art?

  • If you want to use bases for freebies or commissions the answer is no. If you are utilizing the bases to help you practice art then yes. Again, make sure the source is given proper credit.

I think someone is plagiarizing! What do I do?
If you are suspicious someone is plagiarizing please do the following:
  • Contact a forum Admin or Moderator. Do not approach them and throw accusations about.
  • When contacting an Admin or Moderator be sure to include the forumers user, a link to the original art/artist, and the art that is questionable.

What are the consequences of plagiarizing?
  • First Offense
You will be issued a warning.
  • Second Offense
You will not be permitted to post in the art section for a series of two weeks.
  • Third Offense
You will be banned from Safe Space.
